Project ManagerThis Project Manager serves as UTC's representative ensuring compliance with programmatic requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, specifications, and incorporation of campus standards into every project from design through project closeout.ResponsibilitiesManage assigned capital and local projects from design through project closeout and local projects not requiring bid documentsServes as UTC's representative ensuring compliance with programmatic requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, specifications, and incorporation of campus standards into every projectServes as a liaison with university user groups affected by projects, providing clear communication and managing expectationsAssists with engineering and planning tasksDevelops statements of work and solicits project cost estimatesDevelops associated documents as required for construction/renovation projectsRecommends field adjustments and redesign decisions to resolve problems or conflictsManages time and material contracts for projectsReviews/approves invoices for proper adherence to scope of work and terms of contract agreementsPerforms CMMS tasks in TMA (and other database software as required) to create projects, assign work orders, process invoices, input estimates and costs, record status changes, develop and/or monitor associated reports, etc.Performs AutoCad, Revit, and other drafting/modeling software tasks as requiredParticipates in master planning, facility assessments, and project programmingCoordinates professional consulting workAssists with design standards development and documentation, campus space data collection, and analysisAssists in bid evaluation and award recommendationAssists in annual capital maintenance and capital outlay submittalsParticipates in surge space planning and execution as neededAssists with the organization and maintenance of project document retention systemThe ideal candidate will possess the following:Knowledge of construction concepts, practices and proceduresKnowledge of a variety of purchasing/procurement and contracting methodsKnowledge of cost estimating methodsKnowledge of software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD, Autodesk-Revit, Microsoft, Project, Bluebeam, etc.)Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirementsKnowledge and experience in the renovation of buildings, including building and infrastructure systemsConstruction management knowledgeAbility to review design documents for complianceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsQualificationsMinimum: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related degree; and four years of relevant experience in project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Preferred: Appropriate licensure in a functional area (i.e. licensed architect, landscape architect, engineer, or interior designer); facilities project management experience in a higher education institution; and working knowledge of UT/UTC Work Control, Space and ERP databases is preferred.Job InfoJob Identification 3662Job Category Facilities ServicesPosting Date 07/15/2025, 07:06 PMJob Schedule Full timeLocations 400 Palmetto Street, Chattanooga, TN, 37403, US
