We're Hiring! Experienced Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

IEW Construction Group, a well-established heavy civil construction contractor based in Hamilton, New Jersey, is seeking an Experienced Project Manager to join our growing team.

We specialize in major infrastructure projects, including highways, roadways, bridges, and transportation improvements throughout New Jersey and the surrounding region.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in heavy civil construction who can independently manage complex projects from award through completion while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, scheduling, cost control, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, cost forecasting, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinate with Superintendents, field personnel, subcontractors, suppliers, and project owners.
• Monitor labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs to ensure project profitability.
• Manage contract administration, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Work closely with Estimating, Operations, Safety, and Accounting to ensure successful project execution.
• Proactively identify project risks, resolve challenges, and maintain project schedules.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, engineers, and public agencies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing highway, bridge, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Strong general contractor background with direct responsibility for construction operations and project profitability.
• Experience working on projects for NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, PennDOT, or similar transportation agencies preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, cost controls, contracts, and project management.
• Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

What We're Looking For

A hands-on, results-driven Project Manager who understands the demands of heavy civil construction and can take ownership of projects while working collaboratively with our field and management teams.

Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant heavy civil construction experience, and demonstrated capabilities.

Location: Hamilton, NJ, with travel to project sites as required. This is an in-person position; remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.
