All inquiries will be handled with strict confidentiality.Position OverviewThis is a unique opportunity to step into a key role as part of a thoughtful succession plan, working alongside experienced leadership and contributing to a strong pipeline of civil construction projects. The Project Manager will oversee projects ranging from $100K to $10M (with a typical project size around $5M), managing all phases from pre-construction through completion.This role is primarily based in the Rutland, VT office, with regular field involvement (approximately 20%) and flexibility to support work-life balance. The Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating teams, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage civil construction projects from inception through completionDevelop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft ProjectPrepare estimates and manage budgets using HCSS or similar softwareCoordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless executionMonitor project performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standardsIdentify risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain project progressEnsure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codesFoster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal team membersProvide leadership and mentorship to project teams, including supervision of field personnelDeliver regular project updates and reporting to company leadershipQualificationsMinimum of 3+ years of experience in civil construction project management and estimatingProficiency with Microsoft Project and HCSS (or similar project management and estimating tools)Strong understanding of civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site workDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectivelyPrior leadership or supervisory experience is preferredBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferredExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both in-office and in the field as neededCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryPerformance-based bonus program (typically 25%–40% of salary, based on project success)Company vehicle or $800/month stipend plus gas cardHealth, dental, vision, and disability insurance401(k) with company matchProfit sharingFlexible work schedule (typically Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week)Relocation assistance available (negotiable)Why This OpportunityThis role offers the chance to step into a critical position with long-term growth potential as part of a planned leadership transition.
