Project Manager/EstimatorIdaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator for a skilled position responsible for the successful estimating, bidding, planning, execution, and financial performance of construction projects. This position prepares accurate cost estimates, develops competitive bids, manages awarded projects, and works closely with field operations, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & Bidding: Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates. Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead costs. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Develop competitive bid proposals and participate in bid reviews. Analyze project risks, productivity rates, and scheduling requirements. Maintain current pricing databases and market intelligence.Operations & Customer Relations: Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and support field operations. Collaborate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and Operations personnel to achieve project goals. Build and maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, public agencies, and customers. Resolve project issues proactively to maintain client satisfaction. Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in earthwork, utilities, heavy civil, site development, asphalt paving, and related construction projects preferred. Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cost controls.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of construction methods, means, and practices. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
Experience with estimating and project management software such as Bid2Win, Trimble Business Center, PlanSwift, Viewpoint, or similar platforms preferred.Work Requirements: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
