We are 50 years strong in 21 offices across California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Southeastern United States.Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a motivated and skilled Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of energy infrastructure projects—including natural gas transmission and midstream facilities, renewable natural gas (RNG), electric transmission and grid-modernization projects, data center interconnections, and renewable energy developments such as utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role can be based out of Tampa, Orlando and/or Boynton Beach, FL.In this role, you will guide complex, multi-disciplinary projects that support the nation's transition to a cleaner, more reliable, and more resilient energy grid.

You will work closely with engineers, scientists, agency partners, land services teams, utilities, and developers to deliver high-quality work while navigating evolving regulatory, environmental, and market drivers.ESA is looking for a dynamic individual who combines strong technical insight with leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to cultivate lasting client relationships.You are a forward-thinking Project Manager who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and brings experience leading complex energy-infrastructure projects. You have experience across several domains, including:Natural Gas Transmission & MidstreamPipeline routing, constraints analysis, and constructability reviewFERC Section 7(c) Certificate processes, NEPA environmental reviews, and multi-agency permittingRight-of-Way (ROW) strategy development, landowner coordination, and environmental complianceElectric Transmission & Grid ModernizationSiting and routing of overhead and underground transmission linesEnvironmental/engineering coordination for system upgrades, corridor analysis, and licensingKnowledge of ISO/RTO planning frameworks, resource adequacy, and interconnection requirementsData Center InterconnectionLarge-load interconnection requirements and related environmental and land-use constraintsCoordination with utilities, data center developers, and regulatory bodies under fast timelinesSolar + Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)Site screening and feasibility assessmentsManagement of environmental field studies and permitting across all jurisdictional levelsUnderstanding of interconnection, land, wildlife/resource constraints, and construction-phase complianceAcross these sectors, you are adept at synthesizing environmental, technical, regulatory, and stakeholder inputs into clear strategies that move projects forward.
