Ask anyone who knows us - the caliber of our people sets us apart.The primary role of the Project Manager (PM) is to lead and manage all aspects of assigned construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. The PM is responsible for delivering successful project outcomes by managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client relationships while supporting team development and operational excellence.In addition to managing projects, the Project Manager is responsible for:Effective management of project financial performance and fee retentionClient satisfaction and relationship managementManaging major portions of large projects or having overall responsibility for smaller projectsMentoring and coaching Assistant Project Managers and Project EngineersContinuing professional development to enhance project management capabilitiesManaging scope changes, quantity takeoffs, pricing, and tracking project revisionsBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliersQualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related fieldFive (5) or more years of construction project management experienceExperience managing self-performed work scopes.Preferred:Estimating experienceField operations experienceScheduling experienceSkills:Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and trust with owners, owner representatives, design firms, consultants, and subcontractorsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and positive relationshipsCore ResponsibilitiesPursuit, Preconstruction and Business Development:Support pursuit teams in understanding project requirements and opportunitiesResearch prospective clients and market opportunitiesAssist with preparation of qualifications packages, proposals, and presentationsParticipate in client interviews and project pursuitsParticipate in preconstruction planning meetingsLead and manage project quality review processesUnderstand project-specific workforce participation goals and incorporate them into project planningMcGough Self-Performed Work:Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with labor, material, and equipment estimatingUnderstand equipment, tool, rental, and service requirements and associated costsAssist in developing and maintaining project cost projectionsScope and procure materials for self-performed workSupport development of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for self-performed activitiesEstimating and Bidding:Perform quantity takeoffs and support estimate developmentMaintain estimates through design development and construction document phasesDevelop bidder lists and verify subcontractor qualificationsLead subcontractor procurement activities, including bid solicitations, bid analysis, and contract recommendationsEnsure subcontract scopes are complete and aligned with project requirementsConduct scope reviews with subcontractors and field teams prior to contract executionParticipate in development of preconstruction estimates and cost modelsCreate and maintain project control estimatesScheduling:Collaborate with field teams to develop CPM schedulesMonitor and update project schedules throughout constructionSupport pull planning and collaborative scheduling efforts with project teamsProject Documentation:Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and contract documentsLead project document review processesManage Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate timely responsesManage shop drawing and submittal processesParticipate in BIM coordination efforts as applicableManage project sustainability documentation requirementsMaintain understanding of owner contracts and subcontract agreementsSubcontract Management:Maintain comprehensive understanding of subcontractor scopes of workReview, negotiate, and process subcontractor change requestsReview and approve subcontractor payment applicationsMonitor workforce participation and vendor engagement goalsCoordinate staffing and resource requests with field leadershipSchedule and document pre-installation meetingsCost Control:Manage project change order processes and pricingSupport labor cost tracking and productivity monitoringAssist with material procurement and cost codingProvide information required for historical cost tracking and reportingMaintain project cost forecasting and financial management toolsPartner with project accounting to prepare monthly owner billingsMaintain project cost control logs and reporting systemsManage cost review and approval processes with owners and design teamsPrepare billing documentation required by contract agreementsProject Meetings:Attend and support project and company safety meetingsParticipate in weekly planning and coordination meetingsLead construction coordination meetings and document action itemsParticipate in project startup meetings and planning sessionsProvide regular project performance reports to leadershipAttend pre-installation meetings and mock-up reviews as requiredProject Closeout:Lead punch list planning and completion effortsManage project closeout processes and documentationSupport collection and review of as-built documents and warrantiesReview closeout packages for accuracy and completenessCoordinate commissioning, testing, and turnover activities as requiredFacilitate owner training and transition activitiesOther Duties:Participate actively in project management team initiatives and continuous improvement effortsSupport business development and client relationship activitiesFoster relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractorsPursue opportunities to develop new client and design partner relationshipsAttend company meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunitiesParticipate in company-sponsored events and activitiesProvide support in the responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer when necessaryFollow established company standards, procedures, and best practicesParticipate in Lean construction initiatives and continuous
