We bring experiences to the forefront of everything we do, and to do that takes special people.Position OverviewThe Project manager is responsible for managing the scope, schedule and budget for projects. Additionally, Project Managers manage the quality and coordination between all internal and external project stakeholders and ensures a positive client experience.Key ResponsibilitiesReview scope of contract and execute deliverables within the prescribed contract scheduleMonitor time charges and adjustments to the project, where possible, to keep project within budgetRecognize changes in scope/scope creep and confer with Group Manager and/or Director to negotiate appropriate adjustments in contract price and/or scheduleProvide status updates to internal/external stakeholdersMake final decisions for all survey and staking technical mattersReview all deliverables for quality control and adherence to company standards before external release of maps and staking dataCoordinate project submittals with local municipalitiesDiscuss with all project personnel as necessary to provide technical advice and resolve problemsMaintain close contact with client throughout project duration; ensure their satisfaction through information exchange about progress, quality of the work, and the proposed processes and applicationsFoster long-term relationships with past and current clientsCross-sell services to other departments or clientsPursue continuous, deep knowledge of current trends within the industryProvide feedback on staff performance and training needs to Group ManagerMaintain a safe work environment for all crew membersCommunicate respectfully with clients or project neighbors to insure a positive company imageFollow guidelines and company standards set forth by the Geomatics departmentAids in maintaining a safe and respectful work environment by following company policies and proceduresResponsible for assessing potential hazards and unsafe working conditionsSkills + ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDAAS or BS degree preferredLicense as a professional land surveyor (in the case of construction staking only, licensure may not be required if significant expertise and 5+ years of experience in the role of Assistant Project Manager have been achieved).8+ years of experience required with at least two years in the role of Assistant Project ManagerConstruction Staking ExperienceAbility to recognize listener's degree of sophistication and experience in the subject matter and communicate on an appropriate level including field and office staff, other project professionals, clients, and agency staffStrong knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson softwareExperience with Excel, Word, OutlookKnowledge of web-based programs such as municipal GIS and county register of deeds sitesWork Environment + Physical DemandsThe characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. When properly requested and when feasible (without undue hardship to the company), reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions, however when conducting field work, exposure to outside environmental conditions should be expected.Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion.Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.When working in the field, the need to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 or higher pounds may occur.Field based work will involve long-term standing and frequent walking as well as include common hazards encountered while maneuvering through project sites.Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk.Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.McAdams is an equal opportunity employer.
