Construction Special Projects ManagerBoulder Community Health is seeking a Construction Special Projects Manager. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities for hospital and medical building projects, acting as the primary liaison between the organization and construction companies. This person should gain knowledge of BCH building standards. The Special Projects Construction Manager ensures all facility requirements, Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), building codes, and regulatory standards are met along with the contractor and architect. This person collaborates with the BCH Construction Project Steering Committee (CPSC) on all activities, risks, concerns, and decisions needed. Working knowledge of scheduling programs and understanding successors/predecessors relationships and resource loading, and delays preferred. ASHE CHC, CHFM, trained in ICRA 2.0, relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) preferred. Five or more years of experience in construction management required, preferably in healthcare facilities. Three years healthcare facility management operations (manager or directorship) preferred.Responsibilities include managing day-to-day construction activities for hospital and medical facility projects, coordinating closely with contractors, architects, and project superintendents. Serving as the primary liaison between Boulder Community Health and construction partners to ensure project plans are executed accurately and on schedule. Coordinating equipment installation with the designated equipment project manager and third-party vendors.
Reviewing construction plans and specifications to ensure accuracy, compliance with BCH standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Supporting project planning activities including schedule development, storage needs, and coordination of RFIs, change orders, and contractor inquiries. Coordinating critical construction activities such as hot work permits, utility shutdowns, system cutovers, life safety planning, and infection control measures. Preparing for and supporting building and regulatory inspections, ensuring construction work meets required codes and standards.
