Project Manager/Construction Inspector

Part-Time Project Manager / Construction InspectorLaland Baptiste is seeking an experienced Part-Time Project Manager / Construction Inspector to oversee and inspect construction activities for capital improvement and renovation projects in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, field inspections, contractor coordination, and quality control, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and quality of workmanship.Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.Conduct site inspections and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.Review construction documents, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contractor payment applications.Monitor project schedules, budgets, and construction milestones.Attend progress meetings and assist in resolving field-related issues.Monitor site safety practices and compliance with OSHA regulations.Prepare inspection reports, progress updates, and project documentation.Assist with punch list inspections, project closeout, and final completion.Qualifications and RequirementsMinimum 5–10 years of experience in construction management, project management, or construction inspection.Experience with public-sector construction, capital improvement projects, or renovations preferred.Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, drawings, and specifications.Experience coordinating contractors and overseeing construction activities.Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.OSHA 30 certification preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and maintain an on-site presence as required by the project schedule.Flexibility to work part-time hours based on project needs.Benefits of working at Laland Baptiste: Medical / Prescription Plan Dental / Vision Plan Life Insurance Short / Long Term Disability Plan Flexible Spending Accounts 401K Vacation, Holiday, and Personal Days Sick Leave Baptiste University-Continuing Education Laland Baptiste LLC, is an Equal Opportunity Employer
