The belief in sustainability within our company's practices creates a focus on client success and partnerships that are important to our communities and our environment.A Day in the Life of a Project Manager at HansonHere's a snapshot of what you would do in this role:A project manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, executing, and controlling/monitoring of the scope of services, budget, schedule, deliverables, and resources to accomplish the project objectives.The responsibilities of the Project Manager (PM) include:Collaborate with technical staff within the Practice AreasInteract with construction contractors, their staff, and subcontractorsGuide and participate in assembling reports, plans, specifications, and other contract documentsMeet with clients to take detailed project scoping briefs and clarify the specific requirements of each projectDelegate project tasks based on staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levelsTrack project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goalsMeet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysisDevelop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff membersUse and continually develop leadership skillsPlan and conduct project team meetings, both internal and externalOther duties as assignedWhat We're Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Technical Skills:Can demonstrate knowledge of accrual-based revenue recognition process and has ability to read and understand project budget/financial reportsCan generate scope and fee for single task professional service agreementsCan demonstrate understanding of earned value methodologyCan demonstrate understanding of basic accounting termsHas demonstrated commitment to quality control proceduresDemonstrates understanding of billing and accounts receivables proceduresHas completed a training program focused on Project ManagementSoft Skills:Must be able to communicate technical concepts to engineers, clients, and other stakeholdersMust be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases and be able to effectively work with and manage project staffMust have proven ability to comfortably speak publicly and interact positively with clients, regulatory agencies, and contractorsMust be able to work independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skillsEducation/Experience:5+ years' experience in technical task management or acting as an assistant project managerFamiliarity with collaboration and time management software tools or ability to learn themExperience with project process workflowAdvanced time management and analytical skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and ProjectExcellent project team and client-facing communication skillsWorking at Hanson:Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other officesMust be willing to accept periodic out-of-town travel assignmentsMust be willing and able to work overtime to meet project demands and deadlinesSalary range: $145,000 - $165,000BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
