Project ManagerSun Tribe EPC ("Sun Tribe") is Virginia's premier utility-scale solar design and build firm, specializing in small to medium size ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) facilities. Our construction efforts are focused throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland, and neighboring states. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of project execution, managing schedules and resources, and controlling risks and changes. The Project Manager establishes and maintains professional working relationships with project stakeholders, including subcontractors, vendors, clients, consultants, regulatory agencies, host facilities, and personnel from complementary departments within the company. The Project Manager role may oversee more than one project concurrently.

This role includes responsibility for projects of increasing size and complexity based on experience and level, ranging from small-scale to large or highly complex projects. This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Project Management Office and works closely with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and other internal stakeholders. This position supports projects primarily located throughout Virginia and neighboring states, with an expectation of periodic travel to project sites.Principal ResponsibilitiesLeads delivery of assigned solar construction projects across all phases, from preconstruction through closeoutManages project performance, including schedule, budget, risk, and overall outcomes, with increasing ownership based on experience and levelDevelops and manages project execution plans, schedules, and resource strategies aligned with contractual requirementsCoordinates and manages subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to support successful project executionSupports or leads permitting efforts and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal requirementsTracks project performance against plan, identifies variances, and supports or leads corrective actions based on levelManages project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, invoicing coordination, subcontractor pay applications, and change order administration based on level of responsibilitySupports or leads change management processes, including identification of risks, development of mitigation strategies, and negotiation of change ordersCoordinates interconnection, commissioning, and project closeout activitiesLeads or supports internal and external project meetings and reporting, ensuring clear communication across stakeholdersBuilds and maintains strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and clientsProvides functional leadership to Assistant Project Managers and may mentor junior team membersBasic Qualifications RequiredEducation required: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent experienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience in construction or project management, or related fieldCurrent, valid driver's license and eligibility for corporate vehicle insurance coverageSkills & Experience PreferredProject Management Professional (PMP) certification preferredProcore certification(s) preferredExperience managing projects of increasing size and complexity in construction or solar EPC environmentsProficiency in Procore, MS Project, or similar construction management and scheduling toolsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across diverse stakeholder groupsSelf-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement and team collaborationAlignment with Sun Tribe's core values: Community, Safety, Perpetual Improvement, Nature, Joy, and RespectCommitment to a culture of safety, accountability, and high-quality project deliveryWorking Conditions and Physical RequirementsSome evening and/or weekend work may be requiredWillingness to travel to project sites throughout Virginia and neighboring states as needed, typically no less than once per month depending on project assignment(s)Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretchingExposure to characteristic construction site hazardsWearing of standard personal protective equipment while on project sitesCompensation and Benefits Compensation for this position will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
