This includes planning take offs, equipment sizing & selection to ensure the proper scope of work is identified.

The ideal candidate is well organized, hands-on, has excellent computer and HVAC skills, and is self-motivated and dependable with the drive to succeed in a challenging and fast-paced environment.Position Responsibilities may include:Works with the assigned Account Executive Partner(s) to broaden sales of air distribution offerings, including but not limited to grilles, grates, diffusers, dampers, fans, louvers and other air control and distribution productsAccurately estimates plan/spec and design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related softwareDevelops and maintains product and industry knowledge for all airside productsAttends factory training classes and helps to educate others on various products as determined by sales managementMaintains estimating logs and unit costs for all projectsPerforms site surveys and attend pre-bid walkthroughs if requiredInteracts with the sales and contractor relations and project management teams to ensure all projects are performed within budget and according to plans and specificationsParticipates in additional projects to support ongoing business needsNature & Scope:Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experienceManages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervisionCoaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionalsProblems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutionsKnowledge & Skills:Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems and their componentsIndustrial, commercial and multi-family experience requiredBackground in value engineeringThorough understanding of related trades for the purposes of coordinating various project estimatesAbility to read and comprehend blueprints and other construction documentsExperience with estimating software and systems preferredProficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to work under limited or sporadic direction and meet deadlinesMust be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skillsMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to apply good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the jobExperience:5 + years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry with a proven track record is requiredEducation/Certification:High School Diploma or GED equivalentHVAC vocational training/certificatePeople Management:NoPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationsReports To:Manager, Bid DeskQualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
