Project Engineering Manager - Underground Transmission LineTualatin, OR, USAThe OpportunityAs the Underground Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technicians while managing a diverse range of design and EPC projects. This role offers the chance to shape project execution from concept through delivery overseeing design quality, budgets, and schedules, while building client relationships and supporting business development efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesProject ExecutionPrepare complex engineering deliverables across multiple or large-scale projectsConduct research to support equipment and material recommendationsPerform and review advanced engineering calculations and data analysisManage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards across multiple disciplinesLead large production teams, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and serve as the engineer of recordDevelop and implement project work plansClient InterfaceIdentify and understand key client drivers and objectivesCommunicate client feedback and coordinate solutions with internal teamsSupport business development and proposal activitiesManage project changes in coordination with project managementTechnical ExpertiseProvide technical leadership for complex underground transmission line projectsOversee design accuracy, engineering quality, and compliance with standardsGuide teams to deliver creative, practical solutions aligned with project goalsManagement ResponsibilitiesReview and approve work completed by junior engineers and technical staffOversee team performance, including hiring, development, and compensation managementPreferred QualificationsExperience managing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) or design services for underground transmission line projects with investor-owned utilities in the U.S.Strong understanding of high-voltage underground transmission design, including lifecycle management and equipment specification developmentExperience preparing plan and profile drawingsFamiliarity with CYMCAP and Pull-Planner softwareExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsAdvanced knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes, and standardsExperience with interdisciplinary coordination including procurement, subcontracting, permitting, and construction supportProficiency in proposal development and engineering cost estimationProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferredMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering from an accredited programMinimum of 5 years of relevant work experienceAbility to complete pre-employment requirements, which may include background checks, drug testing, and driving record verificationCertifications: Professional registration or active pursuit of engineering licensure is typically required.
