Senior Project Engineer (Utilities-IV)The Senior Project Engineer (Utilities-IV) is responsible for directing the engineering design team in a variety of Water/Wastewater and general public facility projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the engineering team, contractors, and project managers to achieve project goals efficiently. The Project Engineer will ensure all aspects of the project design, from planning to final delivery, are met within budget and meeting the required quality standards.Duties/ResponsibilitiesLead/manage the planning, design, and production of lift station, pipeline and/or Water/Wastewater treatment systems, overseeing others and providing Project Managers with scopes, ensuring alignment with goals, schedules, and budgetLead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development following client standards and templatesDirect development of an action plan and estimate requirements for resources management, labor, materials, and time required to complete projectDevelopment of deliverables including plans, design reports and technical specificationsSupervision of junior engineers in evaluation of shop drawings, and oversight of construction administration duties as the Engineer of RecordMonitor progress of development project and compare actual costs with estimatesPrepare monthly reports detailing progress and costs for next level managementWork with Project Managers to develop scope and manhour estimates for various projectsReview and study existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costsPeriodic travel to perform business development, project management, site investigations, and construction observationServe as a primary point of contact for internal and external clientsJob RequirementsProficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint and Smartsheet or similar platformsAbility to effectively lead and inspire a teamComfortable working and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary teamExcellent oral, written, and organizational skillsKnowledge of codes and design and construction practicesDetail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivatedEducation and ExperienceB.S.
in Civil/Environmental Engineering with a P.E. License in the state of FloridaAt least 8+ years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm with 2+ years with an active P.E. licenseStrong knowledge of engineering principles, project management and industry standards as it relates to pipeline, lift station, and/or Water/Wastewater facility designThis role requires 4 days per week in office.
