Project Engineer (TS/SCI Clearance Required)North Point Technology is looking for a TS/SCI cleared Project Engineer to assist with the management of running large information technology projects. The Engineer uses critical thinking techniques that are applied to project planning process and across multiple projects where necessary. The Engineer ensures the project has reliable schedule estimates and achieves project goals on time and budget.

The Engineer ensures projects have schedule, scope and risk controls implemented in accordance with Project Delivery Standard and in line with the requirements of our client's processes. Additionally, the Engineer will provide our client's management with quality, forward looking data and reporting.This program requires employees to have an active TS/SCI clearance. If you have a Full Scope Poly, working this program will keep your Full Scope ACTIVE.ResponsibilitiesPartner with Product Owners and Leads for the creation and maintenance of project / program schedules, including (but not limited to) tasks, dependencies, dates, milestones, resources and costsUnderstands boundary effectivity for systems and dependencies within and bordering project scopePerforming schedule analysis on projectsResponsible for scheduling and dependency management within and across assigned portfolios and providing follow-up checksLead / participate in schedule auditsInterfaces with Product Owners / Leads to gather data and adjust scheduling parametersInterface as required with all stakeholders on a project level and program levelCreate and maintain the scheduling database for all schedule templates and historic/completed, proposed, and active schedules for projects and programsAdvise management on best use of coding / templates / reports within the scheduling software (Microsoft Project)Provides forward looking schedule analysis to leadershipEvaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas (Risks, Issues, Opportunities)Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedulesEstablish, maintain and report baseline and current schedule status in efforts to communicate clear, accurate and objective project and program progress updatesProactive communication of scheduling impacts to major milestones and critical path activities in accordance with the project/program timeline commitmentsPartner with project manager and leads in preparation for the project's estimate-to-complete (ETC)Provide earned value supportPerform schedule analytics and critical path management reviews to determine and communicate the quality and accuracy of the scheduleAnalyze and report anticipated and current schedule status for communication to proactively focus management's attention of known or potential areas of concern or riskAttend meetings, assist in taking and relaying meeting notes, action itemsAdhere to our client's Project Scheduler StandardsRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related with 4+ years of scheduling experience using Microsoft Project.

May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degreeSolid understanding of Project Management and Project Management OfficeAbility to work independently, with minimal supervision and work effectively in a collaborative team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to have high level conversations with leadership teamsExcellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are requiredStrong attention to detailProven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilitiesWork independently and follows through on assignments with minimal direction while keeping the team informedPossess a mastery of basic/generic data skills (tools & concepts)Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriateComplex Problem Solving -- identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutionsHigh degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the remainder of the MS Office suite.Preferred QualificationsSAFe Agile CertificationsExperience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product ManagerUnderstanding of AWS/Cloud technologiesExperience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologiesExperience supporting the NGA customerExperience using tools like Microsoft Project Web App (PWA), Structured Solutions Inc.
