Project Engineer Transmission & Driveline SystemsAs a Project Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for conducting vehicle- or component based evaluations of transmission and driveline systems such as axles, all-wheel drive systems as well as hybrid electric drivelines and motors. Your responsibilities will include supporting a variety of projects encompassing several aspects of powertrain, driveline and driveline components development. You will be expected to conduct projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding our clients' technical and timing expectations within the predefined project budget limits.
The engineer responsibilities will include planning experiments and test setups, data acquisition as well as analyzing and interpreting results to guide future tests, and preparing detailed customer presentations/reports. Understanding of transmission systems and hands-on aptitudes/interest with strong attention to detail and desire/ability to understand acquired test results is key.Qualifications:BSME or BSEE minimum requiredUnderstanding of transmissions and driveline componentsExperience with powertrain/vehicle/test cell data acquisitionDemonstrated teamwork, leadership and project management skillsExceptional customer communication and presentation skillsHands-on aptitudes/interestDemonstrated experience in vehicle & driveline testing and calibrationDemonstrated ability to lead testing projects and provide direction to less experienced engineers as well as technicians/fabricatorsPreferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of all types of transmissions (planetary automatic, manual, DCT, CVT, etc.)Test cell operation and setup experienceTransmission/driveline and/or engine calibrationProgramming (Excel/Visual Basic, Matlab, etc.)Data acquisition equipment HW/SW such as ATI Vision, ETAS INCA, ADAPT/iTest, CANape, CANalyzer, CSM, etc.Hybrid systems / high voltage system knowledgeUnderstanding of electrical circuits / wiringMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project, etc.)0-5 year experience in related positions
