Project EngineerThe Project Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and managing engineering activities for multiple construction projects. This role provides technical expertise and project oversight, ensuring that all administrative and engineering aspects align with project goals. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the Project Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining alignment between project plans and on-site execution.

This position supports multiple concurrent projects while gradually taking on leadership responsibilities, with the potential for career advancement into a management role.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesGenerate work plans, project schedules, submittal data, and CAD drawings, and present solutions to owners for design problems that arise in the field.Track project quantities and generate project billing.Initiate and negotiate change orders, and review plan changes as they arise.Coordinate material procurement, supplier relationships, purchase orders, and quality control efforts.Manage and negotiate subcontracts.Assist in division field personnel management, and work with field personnel, Project Superintendents, Foreman, and Crews to coordinate work effectively and resolve problems.Attend pre-construction meetings.Participate in and support up to 10 concurrent projects.Provide regular updates to clients on project status, timelines, and key developments.Develop, implement, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and productivity.Work closely with field employees to ensure alignment between project plans and on-site execution.Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.Analyze data and generate reports to support informed decision-making.Gradually take on more leadership responsibilities, with the potential to transition into a management role.RequirementsMust live near or be willing to relocate to the Tampa Metro area.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, multitasking under pressure and tight deadlines.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Strong work ethic.Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving responsibilities.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent technical training and experience.Experience with advanced reporting and analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, Python, etc.) is a plus.Previous leadership or mentorship experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines, is a plus.Experience with mass earthwork or foundation projects is a plus.Candidates who accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam ensures that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position.
