Project EngineerWharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division in Arcadia, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of specific project tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
In this position, the candidate will interface with the estimating division, Project Assistant, the Project Superintendent as well as the Project Manager.Responsibilities:Maintain project logs (i.e. storage logs, concrete pour log, RFI log)Maintain and update schedules (i.e. valve schedule, project schedule)Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs)Create production plansCoordinate facility startup activities and production planningPrepare, review and process submittals and shop drawingsMaintain as-built drawingsCollect and assemble O&M materialPurchase Order and Subcontract Scope analysis and draftingMaterial purchasing, expediting, and trackingValue engineering design and proposalsContract document distribution to jobsite, vendors, subcontractorsCoordinate subcontractorsVisits project sites to monitor progress conformance to plans and standardsDevelopment and distribution of meeting agendas and meeting minutesCollecting and enforcement of safety programs and other safety documentationTechnical Skills:Excellent math skills, scheduling, knowledge of surveying fundamentals, and adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office ProductsQualifications:Four (4) years Engineering DegreeEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabilityWharton-Smith provides equal opportunity to qualified disabled veterans, Pre-JVA special disabled veterans and individuals with disabilities to online application systems by making reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access for submitting to job openings.
