Solar Field Engineer / Project Engineer (Solar Construction)Location: Charlotte County / Richmond, VA Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension) Pay Rate: $40–$42/hr Per Diem: $178/day for qualified candidates residing more than 50 miles from the project site Schedule: Up to 75%+ travel throughout Virginia project sitesPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support utility-scale solar construction projects across Virginia. This role will work closely with construction project managers, EPC contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to oversee project execution, technical issues, compliance, commissioning, and project turnover activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport solar project management teams with technical issue resolution and project execution activitiesCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including EPC contractors, permitting agencies, owner's representatives, operations, environmental, safety, and supply chain teamsMonitor construction progress and ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, and permitting conditionsManage project RFIs, NCRs, submittals, and change ordersParticipate in contractor meetings and provide project status updatesSupport commissioning activities, punch list management, turnover walkdowns, and project closeout documentationReview EPC deliverables, technical reports, specifications, performance test reports, and as-built drawingsReview environmental inspection reports and provide recommendations to contractorsAssist with milestone tracking, contractor notices, and commercial documentationPrepare weekly project reports and communicate project status to stakeholdersCollaborate with project teams to drive consistency, best practices, and successful project deliveryRequired Qualifications5–6+ years of engineering or construction engineering experiencePrior experience as a Solar Field Engineer or Project Engineer on utility-scale solar construction projectsStrong understanding of renewable energy generation systems, power distribution/transmission systems, and large-scale construction projectsExperience with RFIs, NCRs, commissioning, project turnover, and construction oversightStrong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environmentExperience working with multidisciplinary project teams and contractorsPreferred SkillsKnowledge of Virginia E&S and stormwater regulationsExperience with scheduling and cost managementProfessional Engineer (PE) License preferredSoftware & ToolsMicrosoft Office SuiteSAPAdobe AcrobatBluebeam RevuPrimavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling softwareEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program requiredIndustry ExperienceUtility-Scale Solar Construction (Required)Renewable Energy / Power Generation ProjectsEPC Construction EnvironmentAbout Us: Founded in 2009, IntelliPro stands as a global leader in talent acquisition and HR solutions.
