With offices in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, we provide expertise in all of the major areas of civil engineering, municipal engineering, municipal planning, and land surveying.We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Phillipsburg, NJ. This role focuses on municipal infrastructure projects including roadway improvements, drainage systems, utilities, and public site work.
As a Project Engineer, you will manage projects from design through completion, collaborate with municipal clients and internal teams, and ensure all work meets applicable standards and regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign a variety of municipal infrastructure projects including roadway improvements, drainage systems, utilities, and public site workPerform review of municipal ordinances, zoning regulations, stormwater requirements, and other applicable agency regulations for project applicabilityPrepare or assist with preparation of the plans, grading plans, utility plans, road and utility profiles, and construction documentsPrepare municipal plan design packages, engineering reports, and regulatory submissions; manage smaller projects independently and support senior staff on larger effortsUtilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater design software for design and analysisServe as day-to-day point of contact for municipal clients and project stakeholdersCoordinate with permitting agencies, utility companies, and local government entities throughout the project processMeet regularly with project managers and team members to align on goals, schedules, and project updatesPerform site visits during design development and construction to support the design process and ensure qualitySupport project managers in monitoring budgets, tracking costs, and managing scope, timelines, and change ordersSupervise and provide guidance to junior staff in carrying out project tasksGenerate periodic project status reports for clients and internal stakeholdersEnsure project management systems are maintained accurately and up to dateQualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related requiredEIT or PE licensure a plusExperience in civil engineering with a focus on municipal or public works projects preferredProficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater design toolsFamiliarity with municipal codes, permitting processes, and regulatory requirementsStrong communication, organizational, and client-facing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyWhat We OfferWe are committed to creating a personal and professional environment where we can build and focus on helping communities through teamwork and support. The estimated salary range for this position will fall between $65,000 - $90,000.
