Assistant Project Manager Or Project EngineerAn established general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer to support project teams on ground-up and rehabilitation multifamily construction projects across California. This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to manage the administrative and technical side of construction, helping keep projects organized, on schedule, and on budget.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in construction project management with a builder that invests in its people and has a consistent pipeline of meaningful work.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers in day-to-day project administration and documentationManage the RFI and submittal processes from initiation through resolutionAssist with subcontractor coordination, scope review, and contract administrationTrack project schedules and assist with short-term look-ahead planningProcess change orders and assist with budget tracking and cost reportingCoordinate material procurement and track delivery schedulesMaintain organized project files, meeting minutes, and correspondence logsAttend OAC meetings and assist in preparing project status updatesSupport closeout activities including punchlist tracking and final documentationServe as a liaison between the field team and office on documentation and approvalsRequirements1 to 4 years of experience in a project engineer or assistant project manager role within a GCMultifamily, affordable housing, or residential construction experience preferredStrong organizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferredCompensation and BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidays and PTOMentorship from experienced PMs and SuperintendentsClear path toward full Project Manager responsibility with a growing builder
