Environmental EngineerOur Mount Laurel, NJ office seeks an environmental engineer with experience in site characterization, remedial design, and construction/remediation oversight.

The role focuses on supporting project execution across Mid-Atlantic remediation projects, with exposure to NJDEP, PADEP, NYSDEC, USEPA, and similar regulatory programs. This role provides a pathway toward Project Manager responsibilities, including increasing ownership of project delivery, client engagement, and financial performance.Essential Responsibilities & DutiesSupport the technical and financial aspects of a variety of environmental projects throughout the country, with geographic emphasis in the Mid-Atlantic.Prepare technical scopes of work for proposals and projects, project budgets, and procurement packages.Support preparation of cost estimates and evaluation of remedial alternatives.Support preparation of technical reports and regulatory submittals.Plan and coordinate subsurface investigations and remedial activities, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, aquifer testing, and environmental sampling.Participate in proposal development and support business development activities.Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across offices and technical disciplines.This role includes fieldwork with required travel and occasional overnight assignments.RequirementsBS in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, or other related science; advanced degree is a plus7 to 15 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania marketplace.Working knowledge of NJDEP, PADEP, and USEPA regulatory programs, including CERCLA and RCRA.Professional certification (E.I.T. or P.E.).Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.Develop and refine investigation and remedial strategies prior to and during installation of remediation systemsMust be self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and within a project teamMinimum QualificationsB.S. in Civil or Environmental EngineeringAdvanced degree in engineering (preferred)Experience in on-site implementation of environmental remedial actions and oversight of construction activitiesExperience working on Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites is a plusExcellent technical report writing and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with spatial analysis and visualization software such as CAD, GIS, Leapfrog Hydro, EVS, etc., is a plus40-hour HAZWOPER training required; OSHA 30-hour Construction training preferred.Willingness and ability to travel to project sites in the Mid-Atlantic area, with potential to assist other offices in the northeastern United States.Valid U.S. driver's licenseWe are GEI.Some of the world's most pressing problems – from climate change to sustainable development, to critical infrastructure and the future of our energy supply – need our brightest and diverse minds working together to create safer, more resilient communities for tomorrow.We are technical experts, collaborators, and entrepreneurs who draw from diverse backgrounds to solve our clients' most complex challenges.With several offices across North America, we offer a range of engineering, science, and technical consulting services.
