Orano TN is seeking a Project Engineer to support the design, procurement, fabrication, integration and qualification of systems and components associated with spent nuclear fuel storage systems. The Project Engineer will be the primary interface between subcontractors, customers, and design. This position is located in Kernersville, NC.
The Project Engineer will:
- Prepare the procurement specifications, functional requirement documents, integration, test, and qualification plans for spent nuclear fuel storage, transfer, and transport systems, and all manner of equipment needed to handle, manipulate, and operate those systems.
- Oversee fabrication of these varied products by subcontractors by review of fabrication documents (material testing reports, drawings, routers, special process procedures, inspection and test procedures, etc.) to ensure contractual and design requirements are met.
- Prepare fabrication documents to support fabrication activities at Orany TN facilities.
- Support design efforts for new products to enhance fabricability and operability.
- Prepare design changes and non-conformance evaluations as required during fabrication and provide technical direction and oversight to subcontractors.
Additional job responsibilities will include the following:
- Design of non-safety related equipment.
- Visit nuclear facilities to determine concerns regarding new equipment designs and gain information needed to facilitate those designs.
- Support Operations during field operation of storage, transfer and transport systems.
