Project Engineer III – Value Engineering (VE)The Value Engineering Project Engineer III leads cross-functional initiatives focused on cost reduction, product optimization, and continuous improvement while maintaining performance, durability, and user value. This role operates within the project leader hierarchy and collaborates closely with global engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and product management teams to drive VE strategy and execution.Key ResponsibilitiesLead multiple low to moderately complex Value Engineering projects from concept through implementationDrive product teardowns, benchmarking, cost modeling, and opportunity identificationDevelop and execute project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategiesLead technical tradeoff discussions focused on cost, performance, and scheduleInterface with global suppliers to develop cost-effective design solutions within process capabilitiesValidate alternative materials, components, and supplier proposalsCoordinate qualification testing to ensure safety, durability, and performance requirementsTrack project progress and provide regular updates to leadership on savings, risks, and timelinesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance, Product Management, etc.) to ensure successful implementationSupport production and continuous improvement initiatives across global manufacturing locationsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Engineering4+ years of relevant engineering experienceExperience managing product development or Value Engineering projectsStrong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processesResults driven and deadline orientatedAbility to manage several simultaneous projects to aggressive schedules and resultsAbility to handle fast paced, and agile cultureExperience with DFMA, cost modeling, and root cause analysisStrong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skillsExperience with global suppliers and overseas manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with CAD tools and simulation techniquesExperience with teardown benchmarking and cost optimization strategiesAbility to draft comprehensive test plans and specifications10% international travel requiredWe offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package – tuition assistance, 401(k), medical/dental/vision coverage, vacation and holidays.
