Project Engineer II is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects. Responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments.
This position will support Rheem North America , based in Montgomery, AL.
Responsibilities
* Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
* Work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
* Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance
* Provide technical support throughout the engineering process.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges.
* Design, implement, and communicate an operational plan for completing the project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan.
* Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
* Identify, develop, and gather resources necessary to complete the project.
* Prepare engineering designs and work specifications.
* Develop project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 3 years of related experience in Engineering and Manufacturing.
* Proven work experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
* Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
* Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
* Strong project management and supervision skills.
HOW TO STAND OUT
* Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
* Knowledge of gas combustion principles.
* Knowledge of heat pump design and heat exchanger optimization.
* Knowledge of HVAC design principles and vapor compression.
* Knowledge of analysis & system development tools (e.g. ANSYS/Fluent, ANSYS/Mechanical, MATLAB, LabView, Pro/e, EnergyPlus, GT-SUITE, etc.)
