For the world's and people's tomorrows; the world's first, the world's best technologies and products; we will continue our part in creating a better society.Job DescriptionThe Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all technical aspects associated with the development of products for motion control and industrial automation applications. This includes the design, prototyping, qualification, certification, and production launch of new products.

The Project Engineer will lead a team of engineers and other professionals to ensure timely completion and high-quality execution of the technical aspects of a project.ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the technical aspects of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and project timelinesProvide technical expertise and guidance to project team membersWork with contract manufacturers to introduce designs into production on schedule, including leading creation of test specifications and collaboration on test equipmentCoordinate with contract manufacturers, vendors, and stakeholders as needed to ensure project successIdentify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed quality standardsLead and execute prototype / sample builds and product validation effortsCollaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issuesCreate and maintain project documentation, including drawings, models, and specificationsReview and edit technical drawings for accuracy and completenessWork with geographically distributed design and manufacturing teams, and travel to domestic and international design and manufacturing locations when necessaryAdditional technical processes and documentation responsibilities include:Leading Design FMEA ActivitiesCreating and Managing Project Test PlansCreating and Reviewing Test ReportsCreating and Managing Prototype Control PlansCreating Specifications and Proof of Compliance DocumentsCreating and Managing New Product Development Bill of MaterialsCreating and Managing Engineering Change OrdersKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering3+ years in electrical engineering or related fieldFamiliarity with electronic control design, validation and productionDevelopment experience with low voltage DC motor control electronics is a plusExperience using MS SuiteStrong communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlinesCompetency in Altium, Cadence or other electrical engineering CAD softwareTravel:Approximately 10% domestic and international travel.Additional Job DetailsEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec Nidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
