Our clients come from all walks of life, and so do we, which makes us stronger together.Our Project Engineer I role is responsible for supporting engineering project management through preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring a variety of projects in the engineering industry. The Project Engineer I will assist in managing aspects of projects, including oversight and planning for engineering design, procurement, and construction inspection.

The focus of this Project Engineer I role is design work for roadway and land development projects. Travel to client and project sites is anticipated and determined by project/client requirements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform engineering, construction, and design assignments, requiring a solid grasp of the civil engineering discipline and the exercise of professional judgmentResponsible for performing technical assignments throughout assigned projects including design plan and specification development, perform engineering calculations, construction inspections, construction layout, and conducting field testsEstablish familiarity with applicable project specificationsProvide clear and concise documentation of all project activities and quantitiesProvide status reports of project schedulesPerform quality control reviews of the work and regularly report on project statusMaintain professional integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulationsCooperate and communicate effectively with team members to assist and supportMake updates or changes to project plans as directed or assignedPerform other duties as required/directedRequirementsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from ABET accredited institution, Civil Engineering preferredFundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year preferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of eligibility preferred0-5 years of relevant experience in highway/roadway, civil design/construction, and/or land development design/constructionAutoCAD and MicroStation experience preferredAbility to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites, and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirementsValid driver's license required and willingness to travel to job locations in Northeast Illinois and Northwest IndianaMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust have a clear analytical approach to problem-solving and decision-makingMust work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple tasks at a timeCompany BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision insurance options for employee and familyHealth Savings and Flexible Spending Account options availableCompany-provided group life, short and long-term disability, and voluntary life optionsMatching 401(k) retirement planPaid time off and holidaysStudent debt repayment resources availableID Theft protectionProfessional development and tuition assistanceCompany-sponsored social eventsEqual Opportunity Employer Veterans/DisabledAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
