As an MBE-certified business, Glazing Solutions is committed to continuous growth and forging strategic partnerships in the glazing sector.The Role:The Project Engineer will provide support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of design/build, self-perform projects from design to completion.
These phases include: Scheduling, bidding, permitting, subcontractor buyout, cost reporting, preparation of subcontracts, the handling of owner coordination, construction quality oversight, and project closeout.Responsibilities:Effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and co-workersActively contribute to the project schedule and close-out processAssist Superintendent in the management of subcontractors.Monitor project labor, project costs, and equipment needsParticipate in the design development process to collaborate and value engineer construction methods to reduce time and costAssist in the preconstruction, quality, and safety processesEstablish and maintain project schedules and budgets, responsible for overall project deliveryEnsure contractor compliance of safety/OSHA requirements are met on all job sites to minimize riskManage submittal process, change order negotiations and contract complianceWriting submittals, and RFI'sEstablish effective relationships and strive for a collaborative team environmentProvide pricing for changes in project scopeOur projects are nationwide - Travel may be requiredQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field of study1-5 years of experience in commercial project managementSuccessful internships or project engineering experience is a plusDesign-Build experience is idealActive jobsite experience and strong safety recordAbility to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.Significant knowledge of construction methods as well as an understanding of municipalities and the permit processesAbility to manage subcontractors and vendorsProven ability to negotiate and track change orders, submittals, RFI's, and pay requestsAbility to manage multiple projects and tasks at a timeProven ability to direct Superintendent to ensure accurate completion of project scopeDocumented ability to meet sensitive timelinesStrong knowledge of Building Code and Safety RegulationsStrong knowledge of MS Office suite including MS Excel, and MS Project or other Project Management softwareProcore certified or working knowledge and skill in ProcoreBIM 360 certified or working knowledge and skill in BIM 360Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.We are a drug free work place, must be able to pass pre and random drug testsSelf-motivated and able to lead and motivate team membersThoughtful and confident decision making skills with high ethical standardsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalismProblem solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressureService-oriented approach in working with owners, co-workers, and any joint venture partnersStrong attention to detail and high level of organizationReliable, dependable and professional with a strong sense of urgencyWhy Glazing Solutions:Glazing Solutions is committed to an inclusive and safe work environment that makes people feel connected and reach their full potential.
