Project EngineerThe Project Engineer is a highly motivated and detail-oriented position specialized in injection molding and overall process integration. The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and production processes of injection molded components, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage injection molding projects from concept through production, ensuring adherence to timelines and project milestonesCollaborate with design engineers to develop product specifications, prototypes, automation, and tooling designs for injection molding processesConduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new projects, identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategiesOversee the setup, testing, and validation of injection molding processes, including process parameter optimization to enhance product quality and efficiencyCoordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and supply chain management, to ensure seamless project executionAssist in the evaluation and selection of materials suitable for injection molding processes, considering performance and cost factorsAnalyze production data and troubleshoot issues related to injection molding operations to drive continuous improvement effortsPrepare and present detailed project reports, including status updates, project budgets, and timelines, to Program ManagementStay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to injection molding and project managementDrive continuous improvement initiatives and drive Lean Manufacturing principlesMaintain 5S related responsibilities within the manufacturing environment to comply with internal standardsQualificationsAssociate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related fieldStrong understanding of injection molding materials, tooling, process parameters, and machineryProficient in CAD software (SolidWorks) and injection molding simulation tools.Strong understanding of injection molding processes, tooling design, and materials scienceSolid analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentRequired SkillsExperience with multi-cavity molds, robotics, and automation in injection molding.Familiarity with CAD software and molding simulation tools.Hands-on experience with troubleshooting mold issues and optimizing cycle times.Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneouslyStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of MoldFlow analysis and scientific molding principlesKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principlesKey CompetenciesResults-driven with strong accountabilityHigh attention to detail and organizationAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentWork EnvironmentCombination of office and manufacturing floor settingMay require travel to customer sites, suppliers, and tooling vendorsOccasional extended hours during critical program phases
