Project EngineerThe Project Engineer is responsible for planning, developing and managing the engineering activities for projects. This person is also responsible for compliance of specification, scheduling, and cost control of the project based on the sales release. This position is currently a contractor role, but has the potential to be a full-time role in 2026.Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesAttend client kick-off and internal kick-off meeting (if applicable)Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities.Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall schedule.Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents.Interface with all departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of efforts in support of the overall project schedule.Assist in the establishment of the overall scheduleReview scope of supply with his supervisor.Acknowledge Purchase Order as authorized by his supervisorAcknowledge Change Order as authorized by his supervisorPrepare requisitions and coordinate with the Purchasing Department.Issue drawings/documents as directed by his supervisorResolve technical issues with engineers as guided by his supervisor.Assist in controlling project cost and change ordersPrepare Inspection & Test Plans as directedConduct site and shop visits as directedMonitor material, documents, fabrication and erection status and report to his supervisorEducationBachelor's degree in engineering or related fieldProfessional certification preferredWork Experience5 years' technical experience required7 Years of technical experience in a related position in lieu of a bachelor's in engineeringRequired Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Apply innovative and effective engineering techniquesQHSE RequirementsQuality:Take responsibility for the sustainability of Axens and ensuring quality performanceReport any and all quality related issues or non-conformities to your managerMaintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies for quality managementAssist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015Assist in achieving Site, Department, Regional and Global Quality Management Program goals and objectives.Health and Safety:Take responsibility for the health and safety of self and othersReport any and all health and safety incidents to your managerMaintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies and objectives regarding health and safetyAssist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018Assist in achieving Site, Departmental, Regional and Global Health and Safety goals and objectivesEnvironmental:Take responsibility for the sustainability of Axens and protecting the environmentReport any and all environmental concerns or incidents to your managerMaintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies regarding environmental protectionAssist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 14001:2015Assist in achieving Site, Departmental, Regional and Global Environmental Management Program goals and objectives
