Project EngineerOur client, a well-established general contractor in the commercial construction sector, is seeking a project engineer to join their San Diego team. This role supports the successful delivery of projects by assisting with planning, coordination, and execution across all phases. The project engineer will work closely with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, architects, and owners to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while upholding the highest quality standards.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport superintendents and project managers in analyzing and resolving field construction issuesReview, prepare, and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with contract documentsSolicit, evaluate, and qualify subcontractor bids and proposalsAssist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and budgetsMonitor project progress, identify issues, and support timely resolutionsSupport change order management, cost control, and project reportingOversee project closeout, including collection of warranties and final documentationEnsure adherence to specifications, codes, and company standardsBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractorsPromote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment on all job sitesQualifications & RequirementsBachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field1–4 years of construction experience, preferably in commercial projectsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project requiredFamiliarity with BIM/Revit and LEED accreditation is a plusStrong organizational and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented mindset with a proactive, positive attitude
