Project EngineerA well-established geotechnical and civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Project Engineer to join its growing Bozeman, Montana office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, municipal, and resort infrastructure projects throughout Southwest Montana.This is an excellent opportunity for a civil or geotechnical engineer who enjoys balancing office engineering with field work. The successful candidate will support geotechnical investigations, construction observation, materials testing, project management, and client communication while working alongside a collaborative team in one of the fastest-growing regions in the Mountain West.Because the Bozeman office is a growing operation, this position offers significant visibility, responsibility, and long-term career growth.Key ResponsibilitiesManage civil and geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through construction supportPerform geotechnical engineering evaluations, foundation recommendations, slope stability analyses, pavement design, and earth retention studiesSupport construction observation, field inspections, and construction materials testing activitiesReview field reports, laboratory testing, and project documentation to ensure quality and technical accuracyPrepare engineering reports, proposals, recommendations, and client deliverablesCoordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams throughout project executionSupport multiple projects while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standardsMentor field technicians and junior engineers while helping build the capabilities of the growing officeRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering disciplineApproximately 3–7 years of relevant civil, geotechnical, or construction engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain licensure within approximately six monthsExperience with geotechnical engineering, construction observation, construction materials testing, or civil project engineeringStrong technical writing, communication, and project management skillsAutoCAD experience preferredAbility to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teamsValid driver's license and willingness to perform both office and field workPreferred QualificationsGeotechnical engineering experienceFoundation design, subsurface investigations, boring logs, slope stability, pavement design, or earth retention experienceConstruction materials testing (CMT) or construction observation backgroundExperience supporting commercial, residential, municipal, heavy civil, or resort infrastructure projectsExperience mentoring junior engineers or field staffPrevious consulting engineering experienceWhy This OpportunityOpportunity to join a growing office with significant visibility and career advancement potentialDiverse project portfolio spanning commercial, municipal, residential, and resort developmentsStrong mix of office engineering and field experienceCollaborative, employee-focused culture with long-term career development opportunitiesWork on high-profile projects throughout Bozeman, Big Sky, Yellowstone, and the surrounding regionCompetitive compensation, bonus opportunity, profit sharing, and comprehensive benefitsEnjoy the exceptional outdoor lifestyle that Southwest Montana has to offer while building your engineering career
