Project EngineerA well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial HVAC and plumbing projects throughout SoCal. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, vendors, and clients to help drive projects from preconstruction through closeout.The company specializes in technically challenging mechanical projects across healthcare, advanced technology, higher education, commercial, and complex tenant improvement environments. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants exposure to large-scale mechanical systems, design-build coordination, and long-term growth into Project Management.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and executionManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting notes, and project documentationCoordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients throughout project lifecycleAssist with procurement, material tracking, and equipment lead timesParticipate in BIM/VDC coordination and drawing reviewsTrack project costs, labor, schedules, and production updatesHelp manage project budgets, forecasting, and cost reportingSupport buyout activities and subcontract/vendor coordinationAssist with project scheduling, closeout documentation, and turnoverAttend project meetings and help drive communication across internal and external teamsWork on complex HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems projectsRequirements2-8 years of experience in construction project engineering, project management, or mechanical coordinationMechanical contractor experience strongly preferredExperience supporting commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, or MEP projectsUnderstanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentationExposure to healthcare, life science, advanced technology, industrial, or large commercial projects is a plusFamiliarity with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Navisworks, or BIM coordination preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environmentDegree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferredCompensation & BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance.
