The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

The successful candidate will serve as the Project Controls Engineer on the Rio Grande LNG project. The work location is Brownsville, TX.Job SummaryIn this role, you will work with the project team to support schedule development, maintenance, reporting, monitoring activities, cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time.Major ResponsibilitiesEstablishes and maintains the schedule for a specific discipline area or specialtyPerforms schedule development duties to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the required job expenditurePerforms schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialtiesDetermines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirementsIdentifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the scheduleMonitors and validates subcontractor schedulesEvaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvementsSupports cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, and trend program coordinationPrepares and coordinates the implementation of cost reporting and ensures accuracyPrepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and proceduresImplements measurement systems for given processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies opportunities for improvementsAnalyzes data to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challengesEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field requiredMinimum 8-10 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and SkillsIntermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction (EPC) customarily acquired over time through specialized training or practical experienceDemonstrated understanding of planning, scheduling, and cost engineering functionsDemonstrated experience in Primavera 6Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to present complex cost analysis to managementDemonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, problem solving, and enabling decision-makingDemonstrated good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for achieving solutionsTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
