Project Engineer - Infrastructure & VMware (Remote + Travel)
Compensation: $64/hr
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)
This is a project execution role, not operations or desktop support. You’ll own infrastructure initiatives end‑to‑end – from architecture and build to implementation and handoff. Remote role with nationwide travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build Windows Server environments from scratch
- Rack, stack, and configure servers (hardware, OS, networking)
- Deliver VMware implementations, data center builds, and storage projects
- Execute multi‑site infrastructure deployments
- Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Travel to U.S. practice locations (~25% average, fully reimbursed)
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years Windows Server engineering experience
- Strong VMware project experience (beyond labs)
- Proven background in infrastructure project execution
- Ability to work independently across multiple projects
Nice to Have
- Citrix experience
- Networking (firewalls, VLANs, switching)
- MSP or consulting background
Additional Information
Project-focused – no desktop or operational support work.
