If you enjoy solving problems, managing details, and serving as a key financial partner to construction teams, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Why join FCL Builders?Own it from start to finish: Manage project accounting on complex construction projects from startup through closeout.Employee ownership: Be part of a company that's 100% employee-owned—your success is our success.Career growth: Whether you're managing $5M or $30M+ builds, you'll be supported every step of the way to keep growing.People-first culture: We're serious about culture, mentorship, and mutual respect.Award-winning workplace: Proud to be Great Place to Work Certified three years running—because our people make it great.What you'll do:Own project financial administrationPartner with Project Managers and Operations teams to manage project accounting from startup through closeout.Set up projects in accounting systems and ensure alignment with owner and company requirements.Monitor project costs, coding accuracy, and financial activity to maintain job cost integrity.Drive accurate billing & healthy cash flowPrepare and process monthly owner billing packages, including pay applications, schedules of values, sworn statements, lien waivers, and supporting documentation.Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness.Monitor receivables, retainage, and collections to help maintain strong project cash flow.Support project financial performanceAnalyze job costs and identify trends, discrepancies, or potential financial risks.Assist with project forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.Support monthly close processes and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.Partner across teamsBuild strong relationships with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.Provide guidance to project teams on accounting procedures, billing requirements, and financial processes.Serve as a proactive partner in solving accounting and project-related challenges.Ensure compliance & accuracyManage subcontractor compliance documentation including insurance, lien waivers, and contract requirements.Help maintain strong accounting controls and accurate project documentation.Support audits and special accounting projects as needed.What we're looking for:High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred2+ years of construction accounting experience, commercial or industrial construction experience preferredExperience preparing pay applications, sworn statements, lien waivers, and project billing documentationStrong understanding of job costing, retainage, and construction billing processesStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlinesExperience supporting WIP reporting and project forecastingStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsExperience with construction ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint, CMiC, or Sage preferredWhat we offer:Competitive salary and performance-based bonusesEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and moreGenerous paid time off and holidaysCareer development, mentorship, and leadership trainingA people-first culture where your voice mattersReady to help build something bigger?At FCL, you'll join a company where your work matters—and where you share in the success you help create.As a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP), we believe ownership changes everything.
