Project AccountantAccura Engineering is seeking a Project Accountant with AEC accounting experience. This candidate will be responsible for project financials as well as other duties in a growing engineering and consulting firm.Responsibilities/Duties:Review owner contracts to understand accounting requirements.Assist multiple Project Managers in creating owner billingsSupport Project Support Project Managers with accounting queries and assist in job cost reconciliationResponsible for ensuring all assigned projects are properly set up and maintained in the Company's accounting system, and expenses are correctly recorded to the projectReview and prepare documents for timely payment of vendor and subcontractor invoicesMaintain construction job set-up paperwork and budgets in the Procas accounting systemEnsure accuracy, proper coding, and approval of invoices for assigned projectsManage all subcontractor requirements including insurance and Lien ReleasesPrepare monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accountsPrepare monthly accruals, amortization and various other accounting analyses and entriesCommunicate with various team members clearly and professionally, including the Owners, Project Management Team, Managers, the Accounting Team, Engineers, and other Business PartnersSupport ad-hoc reporting and special projectsEnsure compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controlsAssisting with project auditsAudit project setup and ensure billing matches contract type in the accounting systemPerform other duties as assigned.Experience/Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field3 to 5 years of financial and accounting related work experience, including client invoicing, project billing, accounts receivable, and project financial management, preferably in AEC (Architecture, Engineering or Construction) industryKnowledge of contract types such as CPFF, T&M, and FFPExperience with GDOT, MARTA, COA, Airport, and Federal projects is a huge plusExperience preparing and processing client invoices, monitoring billing cycles, and resolving invoicing discrepancies.A/R collections experience, preferably with knowledge of the Procas systemAdvance Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Exceptional communication and analytical skills.Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experienceComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plan with company match.Paid time off and holidays.Professional development and career advancement opportunities.A supportive and collaborative work environment.Equal Opportunity Employer (U.S.) all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
