Hours: 12‑hour 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (rates $4–$8 shift differential)
Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL
We are seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN who will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions requiring close monitoring, intervention, and support to optimize outcomes and facilitate transition to lower levels of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability; monitor changes and respond promptly to any deterioration.
- Utilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters; recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians, including intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or side effects.
- Perform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, which may include assisting with procedures.
- Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety.
Qualifications
Deal‑breakers: You must have:
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
Additional qualifications that are a plus:
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
