Software DeveloperEssential ResponsibilitiesParticipate in project team Agile ceremonies (standup, backlog grooming, sprint planning, showcase, retrospectives)Work with other development team members, business analyst(s)/product owners, scrum masters to build solutions in an efficient manner.Provide input into the development and architectural design process for building software.Build either front-end applications or back-end API's for consumption by front-end technologies and other applicationsProduce high-quality, object-oriented code, understanding service oriented architecture.Work with QA to define test cases and validate results.Work within the development standard processes for the department.Conduct code reviews, peer reviews, and mentor to junior developers.Ability to communicate well, both written and verbal, to both technical and non-technical personnel.Provide critical thought input into the development process and requirementsSkills and ExperienceExperience working within an SDLC in an Agile environment is requiredFamiliar with multiple current and legacy application development platforms, which could include:SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, SqlServer, Oracle.NET Core, LINQ, Entity Framework, classic asp, asp.net, VBRESTful API ServicesNode.jsAngular.js, Vue.js, and other front-end technologiesPHPUnderstanding of Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.Familiar with Platform as a Service conceptsFamiliarity with source code repository management, task and workflow management tools (GitHub, Jira, Bitbucket, etc). Prior experience with Azure DevOps/VSTS a plus.Understanding of security in application development principles and best practices5-8+ years of experience as an engineer in an enterprise environment.College degree from a 4 year university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Familiarity in a government environment is a plus.
