Programmer – Steel Fabrication PlantThe Programmer supports steel fabrication operations by developing, maintaining, and optimizing programming solutions that drive CNC machinery, fabrication equipment, and production systems. This role translates engineering drawings and production requirements into accurate, efficient programs to ensure quality, productivity, and safe operation across fabrication processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, edit, and maintain programs for CNC equipmentTranslate engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications into machine-ready programsOptimize programs to reduce cycle time, material waste, and setup timeCoordinate with Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve programming or manufacturing issuesPerform program troubleshooting and make real-time adjustmentsMaintain documentation for programs and revisionsSupport new product launches and first-article prove-outsRequired QualificationsAssociate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred2+ years of programming experience in a steel fabrication or metal manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience programming CNC fabrication equipmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with steel plate or structural fabricationKnowledge of CAD/CAM softwareExperience with ERP or MRP systemsManufacturing environment with exposure to shop noise, heat, and machinery.
