CNC Swiss ProgrammerWe are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Programmer to develop, optimize and run Swisstype CNC programs for high-precision, short-to-medium run components.
The role focuses on converting engineering drawings into robust, efficient Swiss CNC programs, setting up and proving first-off parts, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to meet quality, cost and delivery targets often for tight-tolerance industries such as aerospace.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, test and optimize SWISS (Swisstype) CNC programs for Citizen, Tornos Deco and similar Swiss CNC machines.Set up machines, perform first-off checks and run production while ensuring adherence to engineering drawings, GD&T and quality standards.Use CAM and Partmaker software to generate and refine toolpaths; develop fixturing, tooling and process plans for new parts.Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to improve cycle time, part quality and tool life.Work closely with engineers, quality inspectors and production teams to ensure manufacturability and on-time delivery.Develop and maintain clear program and setup documentation, including tooling lists, operation sheets and change logs.Support continuous improvement by analyzing process data, applying lean principles and recommending automation or workflow improvements.Perform in-process inspection, final inspection and document nonconformances; participate in root cause analysis and CAPA for recurring issues.Train and mentor junior machinists and programmers on Swiss CNC best practices, safety and quality requirements.Where applicable, support aerospace compliance activities (e.g., AS9100) and customer specific requirements.QualificationsProven experience as a Swiss CNC Programmer / Swiss CNC Machinist with strong SWISS programming skills and hands-on experience on Citizen Swiss, Tornos Deco or equivalent Swisstype lathes.Proficiency with CAM systems and Partmaker to create and optimize toolpaths for Swiss machines.Technical education in machining, manufacturing technology, or equivalent experience; strong understanding of GD&T, materials and precision measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, calipers).Demonstrated ability to set up machines, perform first-off verification, and run production with attention to detail and quality.Experience in troubleshooting machining issues, optimizing cycle times and extending tool life.Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing practices and quality systems is a plus (experience with AS9100 or aerospace suppliers).Nice-to-have technical skills: familiarity with software development and automation concepts such as Algorithms, Data Structures, CI/CD, Build Tools (Maven/Gradle/Make), Python, JavaScript, TypeScript useful for scripting, CAM automation and custom tooling.Additional desirable skills: knowledge of Memory Management, performance optimization, Object-oriented and Functional Programming, Design Patterns and MVC concepts that can aid in developing robust automation tools and scripts.Experience with containerization, orchestration and cloud (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GCP) is beneficial for production automation and tooling deployment.Web and application frameworks familiarity (REACT, Spring, Django, Flask) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ORMs) are advantageous where integration with MES/ERP or custom tooling is required.Comfort with Regular Expressions, API Design and Agile/SCRUM practices to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and integrate tooling into modern workflows.Strong problem solving, communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset; ability to work independently and as part of a production team.BenefitsCompetitive Pay $38-$55/hour DOEHealth/dental/vision insurance401(k)Paid time offPaid holidays
