Program Specialist, University HonorsPosition DetailsPosition Title: Program Specialist, University HonorsDivision/College: Vice Provost for Academic InitiativesDepartment: University Honors ProgramLocation: MoscowPosition Overview: The Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing key areas of the University Honors Program. This position supports operational, programmatic and strategic support promoting student success, retention and recruitment. The position covers coordination and delivery of curricular learning experiences; student recruitment, applications, admissions and scholarships; marketing and communication, alumni relations and support of the Honors Program Faculty Fellows and other areas.Duties may include: Coordinate office operations, document and tracking program schedules and business cycles, plan and coordinate program meetings and events, support program planning and may assist with the development of operating budgets and/or funding proposals, research and compile information for communications such as talking points, speech scripts and responses to correspondence and presentations, coordinate collection of data and materials for reports and other administrative documents, develop and maintain positive liaison relationships with offices, customers and stakeholders including internal and advisory boards, may assist with budget management and provide support for financial and/or personnel processes, other duties as assigned.Unit URL: University Honors Program (uidaho.edu)Position QualificationsRequired Experience: Three years providing administrative, business operations and/or program support, composing, proofing and editing a variety of documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials, using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet researchRequired Education: High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Other: Ability to travel, ability to work non-standard business hours, valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements for driving university vehiclesAdditional Preferred: Bachelor's Degree, previous experience working with Honors or high-achieving students in a university setting and/or delivering student-centered customer service, experience recruiting and advising students, experience with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, supervisors, co-workers and the public, ability to exercise good judgment and effective decision-making, ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, alumni and external partners to advance the mission of the University Honors Program, knowledge of university policies, procedures and software, such as Banner, Slate, Vandalstar, management of records and common computer applications/software such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point, etc, oral and written communication skillsPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be able to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 30 poundsDegree Requirement: N/A: No degree requirementPosting InformationFLSA Status: Non-ExemptEmployee Category: ClassifiedPay Range: $22.03 per hourType of Appointment: Fiscal YearFTE: 1Full Time/Part Time: Full TimeFunding: A visa sponsorship is available for the position listed in this vacancy - NoPosting Date: 08/12/2026Closing Date: Open Until Filled - YesSpecial Instructions to Applicants: To receive first consideration, please submit a cover letter, current resume, and references no later than August 26, 2026.
