Job TitleProject Manager for Custom Automation EquipmentKey ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionLead end-to-end project management for custom automation equipment, including assembly lines, test systems, and machine buildsDevelop detailed project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and deliverablesDefine project milestones and ensure alignment with internal teams and customer expectationsManage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentCross-Functional LeadershipCoordinate with Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls), Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless executionFacilitate regular project meetings, including design reviews, progress updates, and risk assessmentsDrive accountability across teams to meet project timelines and deliverablesMonitoring & Problem SolvingTrack project performance against schedule, budget, and scopeIdentify potential risks, bottlenecks, or delays, and implement corrective actionsLead root cause analysis and resolution of technical, production, or supplier-related issuesCustomer & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycleCommunicate project status, key milestones, risks, and changes to customers and internal leadershipManage customer expectations and ensure final deliverables meet contractual and quality requirementsSupport customer visits, system run-offs, and final acceptance activitiesRisk Management & ComplianceConduct risk assessments and develop mitigation and contingency plansEnsure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirementsMonitor project changes and manage scope creep through formal change control processesQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of project management experience in automotive manufacturing, industrial automation, or machine tool environmentsExperience managing custom machinery, assembly systems, or test equipment programs strongly preferredTechnical & Functional SkillsStrong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, automation systems, and production environmentsProven experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and riskFamiliarity with engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, controls) and manufacturing processesEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
