About iRocket

iRocket is building the next generation of rocket propulsion with automated manufacturing, a new approach to producing solid rocket motors and launch systems faster, at lower cost, and at scale. We're expanding into defense, working with leading primes and government customers on missile and munitions programs. We're a small, fast-moving team where your work will directly shape how the company grows.

The Role

We're looking for a Program Manager to own the execution of our missile programs from award through delivery. This is an early, high-impact role. You'll build the program management function alongside leadership, defining the processes, cadence, and reporting that let us deliver on commitments to demanding customers while we scale. You'll work side by side with engineering and manufacturing at our Hauppauge facility.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day execution of one or more missile and rocket motor programs, keeping scope, schedule, cost, and quality on track
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, including prime contractors and government program offices
  • Manage contract deliverables, milestones, and program reviews, and keep customers informed with clear, honest reporting
  • Build and maintain integrated program schedules, budgets, and risk registers; identify issues early and drive resolution
  • Coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance to keep programs moving
  • Support proposals, quotes, and new business pursuits by helping scope work, cost, and schedule
  • Help establish program management best practices, tools, and reporting as iRocket grows

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience in defense, aerospace, or propulsion
  • Experience managing programs on government or prime contractor contracts, with working knowledge of DoD acquisition, contract types, and deliverables
  • Strong command of schedule, budget, and risk management; familiarity with earned value management a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence leading customer meetings and working across technical and business teams
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building structure where little exists
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; U.S. person status required for ITAR compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience with solid rocket motors, missiles, munitions, or energetics
  • Experience at a startup or in a high-growth hardware company
  • PMP or similar certification
  • Exposure to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs
  • Experience with production ramp or manufacturing automation

Why iRocket

  • Work on programs that matter to national security
  • Help define a new function at a company scaling quickly
  • Direct access to senior leadership and real ownership from day one

iRocket is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
