These programs will use our antenna gimbal platforms and our large-aperture perimeter truss reflectors.Our hardware is flight-proven, with more than 25 antennas currently on orbit and a portfolio of deployable apertures that spans multiple sizes and frequency regimes. Obviously, tenacity is another trait we embrace.About the role:The Senior Program Manager is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for the success of Tendeg's most complex and strategic space hardware programs, from initial concept through on-orbit operations. Reporting to executive leadership, this role leads multiple cross-functional teams at once and owns program cost, schedule and technical performance across a portfolio of programs, ensuring flight hardware is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standards. As a trusted advisor to customers and senior stakeholders, the Senior Program Manager builds long-term strategic relationships, shapes and captures new business opportunities, and helps set program management best practices across the organization. This role also mentors and develops program managers and guides programs through every phase of the mission lifecycle, including concept design, system analysis, detailed design, analysis, integration and test, and orbit operations.What you'll do:Lead and supervise multiple cross-functional program teams at once, providing clear direction, priorities and accountability.Own cost, schedule and technical performance across a portfolio of programs, from contract award through delivery and on-orbit operations.Develop and maintain program plans, integrated master schedules, budgets and estimates at completion (EACs).Lead major program milestone reviews, such as SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR, and ensure readiness at each phase.Oversee program financial performance, including revenue, margin and cost-to-complete forecasting.Present program health, risks and recommendations to executive leadership, and escalate critical issues with clear plans to resolve them.Balance resources and priorities across programs to support company-wide goals.Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for customers and senior stakeholders, building long-term strategic relationships.Provide regular, clear program status updates to customers and executive leadership.Ensure contract requirements, deliverables and reporting obligations are met.Shape and capture new business opportunities by identifying customer needs, influencing requirements and positioning Tendeg's capabilities.Lead proposal efforts, including the technical approach, cost estimates, pricing strategy and schedule.Identify opportunities to expand work with existing customers through follow-on contracts and new programs.Allocate driving requirements across programs, balancing cost and technical considerations.Lead key trade studies, weighing cost, schedule and technical performance to support sound decisions.Identify, track and mitigate program risks and issues before they affect delivery.Manage program changes and scope, and assess their effects on cost and schedule.Negotiate contract modifications, changes and scope adjustments with customers.Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers and teaming partners to meet customer needs.Develop, negotiate and manage subcontracts and procurement documents, such as specifications and SOWs.Collaborate with other technical program leads and subject matter experts across engineering, manufacturing, quality and supply chain.Drive accountability across internal and external teams to meet commitments.Mentor, coach and develop program managers and program staff to build a strong program management bench.Establish and improve program management best practices, processes and tools across the organization.Share lessons learned across programs to improve execution, efficiency and customer satisfaction.Model Tendeg's values and promote a culture of disciplined execution, technical rigor and accountability.What you'll need:10+ years of progressive experience leading technical space hardware programs for commercial, defense, restricted or NASA satellite missions.Master's degree in engineering, business administration (MBA) or aaerospace engineering, another engineering discipline, orProven success leading multiple complex programs at once, with full responsibility for cost, schedule and technical performance.Experience managing programs with budgets of $5M or more.Strong systems engineering and technical management expertise, with a proven record of growing new business and successfully delivering demanding flight programs.Proven track record of delivering operational systems for the Intelligence Community (IC) and/or prime contractors.Deep experience across every phase of the program lifecycle, including business development, mission formulation, requirements flow-down, manufacturing, integration and test, and on-orbit operations.Proven system design leadership, balancing performance, emerging technologies, schedule, risk and cost to deliver mission success.Expertise in leading trade studies and parametric analyses that inform key program and business decisions.Strong ability to evaluate existing and emerging technologies and assess their fit for customer missions.Proven ability to develop, review and negotiate procurement documents, such as specifications and SOWs, and to manage complex subcontracts.Proven ability to conceive and develop configurable products that meet a diverse range of customer needs.Extensive experience partnering with customers to define their needs and deliver innovative, competitive solutions.Consistent record of executing flight programs that meet technical, schedule and cost commitments.Experience leading proposal efforts, including the technical approach, pricing strategy and cost volumes.Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop program managers and cross-functional teams.Strong executive presence, with the ability to communicate program status, risks and recommendations to senior leadership and customers.Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills.Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITARProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.Experience with earned value management (EVM) and with FAR/DFARS-governed contracts.Experience with deployable structures, antennas or RF systems.This is a full-time, exempt position based onsite in Louisville, CO, with a base salary range of $170,000–$200,000. Colorado law requires us to disclose the base compensation range for this role, which is determined based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
