Isaacs- Education Workforce - New York, NY 10128OverviewSalary Range $25.00 - $25.00 HourlyDescriptionIntro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York City's leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children, youth and families, homeless people, and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement & Success, the Teen Expansion Program (TEP) Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:Demonstrated ability to plan, conduct and supervise personnel, recreational programs, and servicesAbility to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 12-19 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional mannerMust be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational missionStrong written and verbal communication skills are essentialSchedule: 30 hours per weekHourly Rate: $25.00/hrRoles, Responsibilities, and Essential DutiesBe available to work weekends and on call on day(s) not on site.Assist with planning and developing program activities to ensure that activities and events are made available for all participantsImplement recreation programs to ensure that members have access to all activitiesAdminister recreation programs to ensure that programs are delivered within guidelines and budgetsPromote recreational programs order to ensure that members are aware of available opportunities and activitiesEnsure facilities and maintained to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriate environment for recreation activitiesCollaborate with summer staff in the planning, development and execution of quality, project-based youth development activities & workshopsDevelop and maintain positive and professional relationships with participants, families & staffCoordinate events & functions in specialty area such as: showcases, exhibits, productions, culminating events, etcEngage participants in specialty area activitiesProvide support through encouragement and delivering resourcesServe as a role model to youth, always maintaining professionalism and preparedness.Utilize positive youth development strategies to resolve behavioral challenges and celebrate youth achievement.Participate pre-program and ongoing professional development opportunities and daily staff meetings in addition to formal feedback and coaching:Implement all health and safety protocols as required.Qualifications:High School Diploma/HSE/GED, associates degree is preferredWillingness to learn & continue learning and developing through this roleDemonstrated sensitivity & respect of teenagers and young adults, and your communityStrong communication skillsComfortable using technology ie.
