Program Director

Company Description Abioremedi, Inc. is a San Antonio, TX–based biotech startup focused on developing biologic therapeutics that serve as safe alternatives to traditional blood transfusions. It is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead a federally funded research program. This role, aligned with Project Director or Principal Investigator (PD/PI) responsibilities, provides strategic leadership along with scientific and technical oversight. It also manages day‑to‑day operations to ensure successful execution of a federal award. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in federally sponsored research, strong operational discipline, and the ability to coordinate complex, cross‑institutional workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Leadership & Execution — Drive the scientific, educational, or programmatic activities outlined in the approved federal grant proposal; ensure milestones and deliverables are met.
• Regulatory Compliance & Reporting — Monitor adherence to federal regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200); prepare and submit timely technical and administrative progress reports.
• Budget & Fiscal Oversight — Track spending, review budget performance, and ensure all costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable under federal rules.
• Team Management — Hire, train, and supervise project staff, coordinators, and subrecipients; foster a collaborative, accountable project culture.
• Federal Agency Liaison — Serve as the primary point of contact for the federal funding agency’s program officer; maintain clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing federally funded research or programmatic grants.
• Understanding of federal compliance frameworks (e.g., Uniform Guidance).
• Proven leadership in scientific, technical, or operational environments.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and cross‑functional coordination skills.
• U.S. citizenship required due to federal program constraints.
