Remote Part Time Product Management

Portland Area Theatre Alliance – Program Director (Part-Time)


Salary: $36,000 annually, salaried exempt
Schedule: average 25-30 hours/week (primarily remote)
Anticipated Hire Date: October 2026


Position Overview
The Program Director provides leadership and day-to-day management of the organization’s
programs, operations, communications, and administrative functions. Working closely with the
Board of Directors, contractors, volunteers, and community partners, this position ensures that
organizational activities align with the mission and are executed efficiently, effectively, and within
budget.


Key responsibilities include:



  • overseeing program planning and implementation, including auditions, educational workshops, and community engagement initiatives

  • managing organizational operations such as member services, technology systems, board support, financial administration, and regulatory compliance

  • leading fundraising and grant management efforts, coordinating marketing and communications, and supervising communications support to maintain consistent outreach and branding


This position requires a highly organized, collaborative professional who can balance strategic
planning with hands‑on execution, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and support the
organization’s continued growth and sustainability.


This is primarily a remote/work-from-home position with flexible hours, but attendance at some in-person events is mandatory. The Program Director will need to be able to keep sensitive working documents, information, and equipment secure at their location. They may need transportation to transport items from our storage unit to events.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Education, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Three to five years of experience in nonprofit, arts, education, or community program management.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Experience managing multiple priorities, budgets, and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Mailchimp, and common nonprofit administrative systems.

  • Experience with grant management, event planning, volunteer coordination, and nonprofit operations is preferred.
