Position Summary

The Program Director serves as the executive leader responsible for the operational, clinical, and strategic direction of our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) / Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic. This role drives high-quality patient care, ensures rigorous regulatory readiness, and fosters an empathetic, trauma-informed environment. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team to optimize clinic performance while expanding our community presence across Florida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence:Direct day-to-day operations, clinical scheduling, patient flow, and facility operations to maximize capacity and maintain seamless service delivery.
  • Clinical Leadership & Supervision:Provide direct clinical and administrative leadership to counselors, nursing personnel, and administrative support staff. Foster evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing) and trauma-informed care models.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Accreditation:Ensure total compliance with SAMHSA, DEA, Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF - Chapter 65D-30, FAC), and CARF/Joint Commission standards. Oversee audit readiness, diversion control strategies, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Financial & Administrative Management:Manage the clinic’s operating budget, analyze financial performance metrics, optimize billing/claims workflows, and implement strategies for sustainable growth.
  • Community Relations & Advocacy:Build collaborative partnerships with local healthcare systems, DCF regional managing entities, law enforcement, and community organizations to strengthen local referral networks.
  • Strategic Program Expansion:Evaluate service gaps, develop new programming initiatives, and integrate evolving best practices in harm reduction and recovery support services.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Healthcare Administration, or a related human services field required.
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Active Florida license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT preferred.
    • Master Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) credential through the Florida Certification Board highly preferred (or achievable within 6 months of hire).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive leadership/management experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
    • At least 2 years of direct experience operating within a certified OTP or MAT setting strongly preferred.
    • Proven track record with DCF licensure, DEA security standards, and SAMHSA OTP regulations.
  • Core Competencies:
    • Deep knowledge of methadone/buprenorphine dosing protocols and diversion control protocols.
    • Proficiency with behavioral health Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms and data-driven reporting.
    • Strong crisis management, conflict resolution, and multidisciplinary team-building abilities.
