Program Director of Gastroenterology Fellowship

Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, NY, is seeking a Program Director for its ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship training program. This full-time employed position involves leading the educational agenda for a program with six fellows, focusing on exceptional clinical training and research opportunities. The role offers a unique experience with diverse patient populations and a faculty appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine.

Practice Info

• ACGME fully accredited Gastroenterology fellowship training program with two fellows per year (6 total)
• Required and elective experiences at Mount Sinai South Nassau and associated outpatient facilities
• IBD and liver transplant rotations at The Mount Sinai Hospital
• Separate advanced Interventional GI fellowship (one fellow / year)
• Didactic and patient-oriented teaching involves fellows, residents, and medical students
• Excellent new ambulatory training sites and ambulatory endoscopy centers

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out the educational agenda for the program
• Perform customary administrative responsibilities such as mentoring, trainee evaluation, and annual recruitment of new fellows
• Create innovative educational experiences that enhance skills needed to care for an increasingly diverse population
• Continue clinical practice in gastroenterology

Compensation

• Compensation range from $500,000 to $575,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Requirements

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York Medical License
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Practiced for at least five years
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to medical education
• Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
• Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
• Previous experience as an assistant or full program director is ideal
